Mrs. Getrude Uzochikwa Akalonu

Mrs. Getrude Uzochikwa Akalonu is a dynamic lawyer with extensive experience both in the private and public sector. She is an accomplished litigator who possesses administrative skills with proven track records and a role model making worthwhile contributions to her nation at large.
Mrs. Akalonu earned a degree in law (LLB) from the University of Benin in the year 1984 from where she proceeded to the Nigerian Law School in 1985 where she obtained a Barrister at law degree (BL).

A seasoned professional with experience spanning over 36 years across both private and public sectors. She joined the public sector after cutting her horn in private practice in the firms of Ibrahim Boyi & Co. Legal Practitioners, G.U. Akalonu & Co. Legal Practitioners and Baron Investment and Finance Limited.
While in the public sector and service to her fatherland she demonstrated and exhibited high leadership skills and as a team player rose to the echelon of her career.

From a Senior State Counsel Ministry of Justice (Edo State) she transferred her expertise to the Corporate Affairs Commission (Abuja) where she worked as Principal Manager and rose to the level of a director heading various departments in the Commission.

She is a member of many prestigious and notable professional bodies among these are the Nigerian Bar Association; a former member of NEC-NBA, Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators (ICSAN), International Dispute Resolution Institute (IDR), the Nigerian Institute of Management and Institute of Chartered Mediators & Conciliators. She has attended several conferences and presented papers at national and international levels.
