Bede-Nerus Ekezie, Head of Programme & Membership Marketing
Mr. Ekezie is the head of Programmes and Membership at the IoD Centre for Corporate Governance (IoDCCG). Prior to joining IoDCCG he was the Director of Programmes, Media Relations and Membership Services of the Nigerian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises,(NASME), a national grass root organisation where he led intensive advocacies for economic and financial systems restructuring that support strategic interventions for the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria.
Since joining IoDCCG, he has been involved in the Design and development of training content/framework that addresses the core areas of knowledge gaps in organisations, which are targeted at improving personnel performance. Nerus has also been involved in various initiatives to upscale the capacity of boards and the executive management of corporates in the practice and acculturation of corporate governance in various public and private sector organisations.
He brings with him extensive skills in programme management, learning & development design and delivery, business development, strategy, organisational development, stakeholder management, and innovation management. Nerus is extremely passionate about leadership development, youth-led entrepreneurship development. He anchors numerous project proposals and is a frontline facilitator in entrepreneurship and youth leadership development programmes. With over 20 years of combined experience as an Investment Banker and SME consultant, Mr. Ekezie has made tremendous contributions to the growth of the real sector with greater emphasis on business re-engineering and youth mentorship. He has mentored various start-ups and aspiring entrepreneurs while also successfully leading many SMEs to access funding from different financial institutions.
Ekezie is a fellow of the Institute of Professional Industrialist and Management Development, and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management. He holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration from the University of Lagos and an MBA in Managerial Finance from Lagos State University. He has attended many professional certificate courses at various local and international capacity building programmes. With over 48 write-ups and presentations at different fora on entrepreneurship credited to Mr. Ekezie, He has indeed made tremendous contributions towards the upliftment of the fortunes of MSMEs in Nigeria. He is married with children.
