Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance Reporting for Media
Venue: Eko Hotel, Lagos.
This specialised training workshop was organised by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in collaboration with the IoD Centre for Corporate Governance. The training is motivated by the fact that media practitioners have the responsibility of reporting on corporate governance and sustainability in organisations as well as the polity. Knowledge of corporate governance therefore empowers media practitioners in their reporting ability on compliance with and the practice of good corporate governance in any jurisdiction.
The training was held in Eko Hotel on the 12th of April 2017. This training was based on the understanding of the important role the media has to play to assess negative impacts by businesses and hold them accountable, while also recognising actions that encourage sustainability. The training was a collaborative training between the International Finance Corporation and the IoD Centre for Corporate Governance.
The facilitators were Omosalewa Fajobi – CG Specialist and Project Coordinator (Nigeria), Damilola Smith – E & S Specialist, IFC and Dr. Nechi Ezeako – ED/CEO, IoDCCG.
